Qualifying Company Investment

One qualifying route is an investment of at least €50,000 in the equity capital of a Latvian company that:

• Employs no more than 50 employees, and
• Has annual turnover or annual balance not exceeding €10 million

For this investment category, no more than 10 foreign investors may qualify through the same company under the specified provision.

State Budget Payment

In addition to the qualifying investment, the applicant must currently pay €25,000 into the Latvian State budget upon receipt of the first temporary residence permit.

Family Inclusion

Eligible family members may be able to apply together with or join the principal applicant, subject to Latvia's applicable family and residence-permit requirements.

This can generally include:

• Spouse
• Eligible minor or dependent children

Family eligibility should be assessed individually at the time of application.

Long-Term Residence

The investment route provides temporary residence rather than automatic permanent residence.

Latvia separately provides long-term resident status and permanent residence pathways for applicants who meet the relevant legal residence and other requirements. The Latvian authorities therefore should not be presented as guaranteeing permanent residence automatically after simply holding an investment permit for five years.
