Spain Self-Employed Work Visa

The Spain Self-Employed Work Visa is designed for eligible non-EU nationals who intend to establish or carry out an independent professional or business activity in Spain.

General Eligibility

Applicants generally need to:

Residence Permit

The initial residence and self-employed work authorisation is generally granted for one year, subject to the applicable conditions and scope of the authorisation.

Spain Non-Lucrative Residence Visa

The Non-Lucrative Residence Visa is intended for people who wish to reside in Spain without carrying out employment or professional activity.

Applicants must demonstrate sufficient financial means to support themselves and accompanying family members. For 2026, official Spanish consular guidance states a minimum equivalent to 400% of IPREM for the main applicant, plus 100% of IPREM for each accompanying dependant.
